I'm a life-long learner

Ever since I was a child, playing school with my dolls, a giant chalkboard, and textbooks my mom would type up for me (#bestmomever), I've been passionate about learning and development.

I started to focus that passion when I was a client service representative. I created “cheat sheets” to help my teammates learn new software for which no training was provided.

What I quickly learned was how critical training was. And not just any training, but the right training and the right time for the right reason.

I clearly remember the day my manager called me into his office to announce he was taking a new job in the company and need to name a successor. I assumed he wanted my opinion on who it should be so imagine my surprise when he announced he was promoting me. My response wasn’t thank you, it was “why me?”.

He proceeded to mentor and guide me, helping to to hone my leadership skills, stretching me to do things I never thought I could do. Thanks to him I went from a customer service representative to a corporate trainer developing and facilitating global leadership development programs, to managing a few people, then a team, then an entire division of a Fortune 500 company.

I got started thanks to an amazing leader

Throughout my life, I've seen bad leaders, good leaders, and outstanding ones. What differentiates the outstanding ones from the bad is always the same...how they treat others.

A transition point

I don't believe everything happens for a reason, but I do believe every event can teach us something about ourselves. I believe that adversity and rejection can make you stronger if you reflect on the lessons.

A layoff in 2020 started me on the journey to start my own business. Taking my 30+ years in learning and development, talent management and coaching, I focused on the skills that help leaders become stronger and more effective. Learning from amazing leaders, I've seen firsthand how excellent communication, strategic planning, and problem-solving can transform a team.

I believe every individual has an innate desire to learn and excel. As a leader, it's up to me to create an environment that helps them find and close any skills gaps to help them, and the organization, grow and prosper.
